Unlike extroverts, who crave the social energy and elation that comes with socializing, introverts are dragged down by gatherings.
Small talk is the anchor around their necks, chit chat is the seasoning on their last meal, and idle conversation is downright exhausting. The truth of the matter is, introverts can always take on a new video game, a new book, or a new movie marathon, but accepting new friends in new places and new spaces is an entire ordeal. Introverts prefer the familiarity of their homes and the comfort of their supportive spaces. Although it's fun every now and then to yip yap with your closest pals, once you've “caught up” on the facets of everyone's journey, it's time for an introvert to recede once more, returning to the social surface only once the coast is clear.
